The Athabasca Design Lab – Provide Your Feedback!
Since October, The Social Impact Lab Alberta has been hosting a project in town called The Athabasca Design Lab. This project is led by a group of around 30 people from the Town of Athabasca and Athabasca County; we’ve been using the framework of design thinking to identify a challenge in the area, learn more about it through interviews and research, come up with innovative solutions, and explore how to make those ideas real in the community.
We have been focusing on the issue of communication in Athabasca, specifically trying to address the communication gaps of access, awareness, power, and connection. We have selected four top ideas that could address these gaps and are creating prototypes, or physical representations, of our ideas so that the community can understand them and offer feedback.
On May 16 from 9:30-11am, we are inviting the public to join us at the Athabasca University Academic Research Centre building to see and interact with our prototypes and let us know what you think! This drop-in opportunity will allow you to learn more about the possibilities before us, share your feedback, and have a hand in shaping the future of communication in Athabasca.
If you are interested in joining us or would like more information, please RSVP via email at Kelsey.Brown@thesocialimpactlab.com
